Free Power from the Sun with a grid connect solar system -
Save your money on electricity ... and the environment

* Sick of rising electricity bills - want to reduce your electric power usage?
* Would you like your energy retailer to pay you?

How Much will I save off my Power Bill

The amount of energy a solar system will produce depends on a number of factors.

  1. The direction the panels face
  2. The tilt or angle of the panels
  3. Shade
  4. Temperature
  5. Weather conditions
  6. Dust

We cannot do much about temperature and the weather conditions, and as far as direction and angle of the panels go you are limited by the design of you roof.

So when installing a solar system it is about finding the best location on your roof that is not affected by shade. This could be the East side, North side or the West side.

The table below shows the possible savings. You just need to find out how much you are spending each day on electricity and that is the system for you.

Power produced by systems.

The low price is if you use all the power the solar system produce.
The high price is if you export all the power the solar system produces.

Chances are you will be somewhere in the middle. But it all depends on how much power you use, and when you use it. Tip! Limit your power usage during the day and you can double your pay!!!

Rebates

Applies to Residential, Business, Holiday homes, Farms, Investment Properties
STC's – Small Scall technology certificate formally known as REC's Renewable Energy Certificates

Depending on the price of each certificate and the size of the solar system you are purchasing the rebate can be from $1800 to $5000.

STC's are designed to give you an upfront discount on your solar system. This is designed to give more people the opportunity of getting solar installed

FIT - Feed in Tariff

The FIT is the amount of money the Electricity retailer will pay you for any power that is exported. As at the 1st of July 2011 the FIT rate for Queensland is $0.44 per kilowatt. This is more than double the rate of what you are paying for electricity. This has been fixed till 2028. There is no guarantee that the FIT will be offered to future connections as seen by other states. So if you have been sitting on the fence for a while, time to act is know.

The FIT is designed to give the purchaser of a solar power system long term support and a faster payback period, typically 5 to 8 years
As at the 30th June 2011 the maximum size solar that is eligible to receive FIT is 5kw.
