Solar Rebates

2025 URGENT UPDATE!!! The newly announced federally funded Battery Rebate started on July 1st 2025.

The battery rebate scheme is called 'Cheaper Home Batteries Program' and is available in Townsville and surrounding areas. Applicable to batteries up to 50kwh and will amount to over $17,500 in rebates

Solar Rebates will still be applicable and can save over $4000 on a 13kw System. Combine this with your battery rebate to lock in over $20,000 in upfront rebates.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, don't miss out. Call our office and submit an enquiry before it's too late.

If you are looking at installing a new battery system, expanding your existing battery or going with a completely new solar panel system with batteries (Hybrid Solar). The newly announced battery rebates will reduce your upfront cost by 30%, which equates to $372 per kWh of usable battery storage. This will reduce over time, so get in early and save the maximum amount possible.

The Solar panel rebates will continue. The discount ranges from $1500 to $4000(13kw) for residential solar systems and up to $36,000 for 100kw commercial solar systems installed in Townsville and regional areas of North Queensland

The term used for the Solar Rebate is the STC or Small-Scale Technology Certificates. Each certificate equals one megawatt of electricity displaced over 15 years. The number of certificates and value is set by the government based on the size system installed and what location each system is installed.

Currently, in 2025, the value of this rebate is:

5kw Solar System - Rebate $1500

8kw Solar System - Rebate $2600

10kw Solar System - Rebate $3200

13kw Solar System - Rebate $4000

Bigger is better, especially when you have batteries as you always want to have excess solar to charge the batteries and supply loads at all times. What you don't want to do is start installing solar in shaded areas as this can effect your warranty and also reduce overall production. Make sure your system is designed by accredited solar designers and installers, not a solar person that gets paid based on have big the system is.
